Turtle Hatchling detection dogs in training.
Drake, Eria and Jagera have been imprinted on the scent of turtles, have worked on searching for that scent and have met turtles at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
All this is inpreparation to assist with the rescue of beached turtle hatchlings - the autumn storms wash the hatchlings ashore entangled in beach detritus, it is hoped that the dogs will increase the percentage of turtles rescued.

Drake - a qualified wilderness search and rescue dog is adding find HR (human remains) to his skill set and focussing on water edge searches.

Alyxia, Ione and Hedraian are learning to be water dogs. Searching for drowned people from a boat and searching water edge on foot. During training we are doing a fair amount of dry searches to hone their skills.

Hedraian is also doing some man trailing.
There is a man up this tree - K9 Drake

For fun all seven dogs are working their way through the KUSA Trick Dog program - Tili, Cali, Drake, Eria, Hedraian, Ione and Alyxia - I am their biggest handicap.

Drake & Eria have spent lock down learning to detect and indicate aviation fuel. Drake works Avgas and Jet A1 while Eria works just Jet A1. They need to find the fuel source on various substrates and of various ages.
